Probably best translated with the word "philology," now a woefully underrepresented study.

AFAIK neither were used in a sentence.

mu' qun etymology (n) qepHom 2024
"The origin and development of a word or another aspect of a language" (qepHom 2025 REQUEST)

(Lieven, 11/15/2013): Marc Okrand explained how he made up the words in the creation of TKD: He had a chart of possible combinations where he could just "choose" a random word and give it a definition. He first thought if that word "sounds okay" for what it might mean, and sometimes he also paid attention if the word should follow a pattern, as the words for speech all start with {ja-}. As you can read in the interview, MO likes to think about a word for a long time if he likes to have a pun in it, but sometimes he might just look at his list of un-used syllables and pick one from there.
