Klingon word: pur
Part of speech: verb
Definition: inhale
Source: HQ v12n4 p.8
_______________________________________________

tlhIch vIpurbe'
I don't smoke. (TNK)

(HQ 12.4:8): Air, for example, comes into and out of the nose or mouth. The word for breath is {tlhuH}, and that for breathe is also {tlhuH}. To breathe in, or inhale, is {pur}; to breathe out, or exhale, is {rech}.

(qep'a' 2018): [{toba'qo}] is just the Federation Standard word; Maltz has heard the phrase {por pur} "inhale leaf", which he assumes is shortened from {por tlhIch pur} "inhale leaf smoke", but he has no idea what kind of {por} "leaf" it might be/

(qurgh, 9/16/2016): We asked for air as in the stuff around us that can be put into tanks. We got {rewve'} as the common term and {lay} as a technical term. We were not told the difference.
