*krincha* (type of animal) ('u'-OPERA)
*krencha* (Shatner's novel, _The Return_)

(PB2 p.156 note): A *krencha* (QIncha') is a type of lizard indigenous to Kronos.

(ghunchu'wI', 8/21/11): The English accompanying the opera said "Krincha, short and fierce". I found references to a "Krencha" in several places, including the KLI's Extended Corpus Project and the Memory Beta wiki. It is described as a large, quick lizard native to Qo'noS, variously said to have either four or six legs. I suspect that the opera's author intended to invoke that animal but misspelled its name.

(MO's KCD audio): Although {lung} is translated as lizard, it actually can refer to any animal of that general shape, such as a newt or salamander.
