[tlhIngan Hol] Klingon Word of the Day: SaqDaq

Apologies for responding to an old post, but…
People seem to be referring to {SaqDaq} as if it were synonymous to “airport”. Airplanes need a long, straight, level, usually paved, dedicated strip on which to pick up speed, into the wind to take off, then they need that same strip, again, into the wind, to land, slow down, and stop.
The Klingon ships we’ve seen land do so as VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing). All they need is a clearing a little larger than the ship, relatively level and stable; not so much even a heliport as a field.
There’s no reason to presume that it has to be a permanent structure.
If you are nearing the surface and you are looking for a place to “put down”, whatever place you arbitrarily choose is probably your {SaqDaq}. If a group of warriors leaves the ship to do a mission, when finished, they’d probably meet {DujDaq}, but if the ship is heading out for supplies, and will return later, they’ll regroup {SaqDaq}, whether the ship is there or not, because that’s where the ship will be later.
