The word {lut tlhaQ} appeared in a chapter on PK about jokes. In the
example dialogue, the speaker asked for a {lut tlhaQ} and the responder
told a joke. So even though the canon translation is "funny story", it
might be glossed as "joke". The canon word for joke is {qID}. Okrand
explained the difference:

(qepHom 2022 booklet p. 17) Often interchangeable, but generally
speaking, if the narrative wasn't particularly funny until the last
line, that would be a {qID} while a {lut tlhaQ} is a narrative that's
funny, at least sporadically, throughout.
Note that to play a practical joke on someone, to trick on someone, is
not {qID} (the verb meaning "joke"). It's {chem} "prank."
