Klingon Word of the Day for Sunday, December 10, 2023
Klingon word: remloSDu'
Part of speech: noun
Definition: guts, bowels, entrails
Source: qepHom 2023
_______________________________________________
AFAIK not used in a sentence.
(qepHom 2023): {remloS}, in its singular sense, would refer to any individual internal organ. It could, of course, also be used as a plural (equivalent to {remloSDu'}).
(PB2 p.108 note): In English, the word “stomach” may refer to the midsection of the body (belly, abdomen) or else the internal organ. In Klingon “belly” and “stomach (organ)” are two different words; {chor} and {burgh}. However, as an exception, we believe {burgh} here is used to refer to both the organ and the midsection of the body. As this passage is from the O: libretto source material, we believe the use of the word “stomach” here could be attributed to artistic license on the part of the librettists.
