It turns out there’s a Wright Brothers connection to the Ingenuity helicopter now operating on Mars:
"This really is a Wright Brothers moment<https://www.pasadenanow.com/main/this-really-is-a-wright-brothers-moment-jpl-makes-history-with-successful-flight-of-ingenuity-mars-helicopter/>," exulted Steve Jurczyk, NASA's acting administrator. Indeed it was, and affixed below Ingenuity's rotors was a physical tribute to Orville and Wilbur Wright's historic 1903 flight above the beach near Kitty Hawk, N.C.: a stamp-sized piece of wing fabric from their original "air machine," Flyer 1. In another bow to the two pioneering bicycle makers who ushered in the Age of Airplanes, the site of Ingenuity's first Martian flight was renamed Wright Brothers Field<https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2021/04/19/nasa-helicopter-ingenuity-flight-tests-mars-rover-wright-brothers/7286799002/>.”
… though I think that “Kitty Hawk” would have been a much better place name! <g> See http://jewishworldreview.com/jeff/jacoby042621.php3
The NASM text gives us an good word for the Ingenuity drone as well – avoiding the issue of number of propellers, vertical vs. horizontal movement, etc.: {puvwI’} a “flyer”.

1903 Wright Flyer
The 1903 Wright Flyer was the product of a sophisticated four-year program of research and development conducted by Wilbur and Orville Wright. After building and testing three full-sized gliders, the Wrights' first powered airplane flew at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, on December 17, 1903, making a 12-second flight, traveling 36 m (120 ft), with Orville piloting.
