The Good News:

UltraLingua now has a 64-bit version that runs in MacOS 10.15, Catalina. If you had the old version, you can go to their Web site, write an Email to their developer guys and they give you a link to download the new ones, and directions on how to get around MacOS security to run an app that isn’t signed by Apple. It’s more complicated than it was even recently.

You try to run it, you get the choice of either moving it to the trash or canceling, then you go to System Preferences, Security and Privacy, General, and you see the note that UltraLingua was blocked, and you choose to run it anyway.

Twice.

And then it runs.

The Bad News:

The dictionary is really, really old. I looked up “drill” and “bore”. Nope.

So, unless you do a lot of data entry, your phone will have a better dictionary than your Mac.
