Are you trying to ask why we do it, are you trying to ask why he is the cause, or are you trying to ask why we do it despite his being the cause? There are ways to make the question less ambiguous.
However, I don’t quite understand what “cause for us trouble” means. Can you describe a situation where you would use that phrase?
