Klingon Word of the Day for Thursday, August 27, 2020

Klingon word: lup
Part of speech: verb
Definition: transport

AFAIK never used in a sentence.

lupDujHom shuttlecraft (n)
lupwI' jitney, bus (TNK) (n)
lupwI' mIr train (TNK) (n)

leng roam, travel (v)
tIj board, go aboard (v)
ten embark (v)

jol transport/beam [aboard] (v)
Qol transport/beam away (v)

*{lupDuj} works for "passenger shuttle, transport ship, runabout (?), starliner", etc. There were regular shuttles from DS9 to Bajor. (DS9 various episodes) A Klingon civilian transport carrying 441 passengers was alleged to have been destroyed by the Defiant near the Pentath System. It had apparently decloaked (?!) in front of the Defiant during a battle. (DS9 "Rules of Engagement")

Note however {muD Duj} "airplane" from TalkNow Klingon (TNK).
