A good point. *wanI'* is definitely a superior here. I don't think 
*vay'* absolutely has to be a tangible person or item (e.g., *'ach wa' 
vay' vIpoQ*/But only if you grant me / One condition;/*vay' qalay'ta'*/I 
gave you my word of honor//[paq'batlh]/), but *wanI'* is better.
