(qepHom 2017 p.20):  {SuS} [the verb] … can also be used for blowing out a candle. With {SuS} you're blowing into/onto/at something, but the air gets out of the thing (or never goes in it).

CULTURAL NOTES:

  Large thick, white white *kor'tova* candles - that "represent the fire that burns in the heart of a warrior" - are lit by father and son in both the {ruStay} (*R'uustai*) ceremony (TNG "The Bonding") and the First Rite of Ascension (TNG "Firstborn").
