Klingon Word of the Day for Saturday, November 02, 2019

Klingon word: tarDIghaD
Part of speech: noun
Definition: tardigrade
Source: qepHom 2015 p.14
_______________________________________________

(qepHom 2015, p.14): Maltz was once asked for the Klingon word for tardigrade. He never heard of such a thing. He said just to use the Federation Standard word with a Klingon pronunciation: {tarDIghaD}.

FYI: Tardigrades are microscopic and very resistant micro-animals that resemble eight-legged pandas, thus the nickname "water bears". Tardigrades are tough and can survive — but apparently not reproduce — in the harsh conditions of space.

JOKE:
“Tardigrade: the direction you turn when you decide to head back to your TARDIS" (SuStel, 11/16/2016)
