Here's a completely tangential observation.

Type 9 suffixes do one of three things.

1. Turn a verb into a noun. *-wI', -ghach.*

2. Turn a verbal clause into a dependent clause. *-bogh, -chugh, -DI', 
-meH, -mo', -pa', -vIS.*

3. Change the mood of the sentence.
*    -'a'* gives the sentence the interrogative mood.
*    -jaj* gives the sentence the optative mood (thanks QeS).
