Klingon Word of the Day for Sunday, June 23, 2019

Klingon word: non
Part of speech: verb
Definition: be rotten
_______________________________________________

(KGT 91): It is important to distinguish {rogh} [ferment] from {ragh} (decay). Food that has decayed ({raghpu'bogh Soj}, or more succinctly, {Soj non} - rotten food) is food that has become inedible and must be thrown away, though it is sometimes given to animals.

(KGT 86): On the other hand, it is most insulting to say that someone smells like rotting *forshak*.

TREK TRIVIA:
A jealous Worf intentionally provokes Grilka's aide Thopok in Quark's bar: "Is there a pile of rotting *forshak* in here, or is it you?" (DS9 "Looking for Par'Mach in All the Wrong Places")
