CULTURAL NOTES:
“Fate is a human concept.” (Advocate Ch’Pok to Sisko, DS9 "Rules of Engagement")

(KGT 189): All too frequently, one hears rumors about the fate of a student of Klingon who intended to say {yo' qIj} ("Black Fleet") but accidentally said {yo' qej} ("grouchy fleet") instead.

(KGT 142): For a visitor to a Klingon settlement, of course, the fate of any given trait is only of academic interest.

(Jeri Taylor, _Pathways_ [p.198]): ""Do you understand what Kahless learned?" her [B'Ellana's] mother asked. "That a Klingon can't hide from his destiny. That confronting your fears will conquer them, but flying from them gives them power. Do you understand that?"

TREK TRIVIA:
"Captured by Starfleet officers, Kor cares not for his own fate." (TKW 208 ill.; TOS "Errand of Mercy")

"Today we conquer. If some day we are defeated, well, war has its fortunes good and bad." (Kor to Kirk, TOS "Errand of Mercy")

"Think of it, as we sit here, in space above us the destiny of the galaxy will be decided for the next ten thousand years." (Kor to Kirk, TOS "Errand of Mercy")
