[tlhIngan Hol] whales dolphins {-pu'} and {-mey}

There's no answer to this, but I'll write it anyway.

We say that {-pu'} is to be used with beings capable of language.

maj.. But how do we define language ? Words and syllables ?

And you now something ? To ghe''or with parrots. They just repeat what
they hear.

But don't whales and dolphins communicate, or do they make sounds
because they just get their kicks that way ?

Or because we don't understand their language, we should use {-mey} ?
Or should we use {-mey} because they're "animals" ?

Because I know many people, myself included, who are waaay less
intelligent than a dolphin..

So, I can't understand why I shouldn't say {*dolphin*pu'} instead of
{*dolphin*mey}.

And because I got so worked up by this obvious injustice to these
animals, from now on, it will be *whale*pu' and *dolphin*pu' for me.
