Klingon word: baghHa'
Part of speech: verb
Definition: crack a code (slang)
Source: qepHom 2014
_______________________________________________

I.e. decrypt without permission (qepHom 2014)

(Lieven, 11/12/2014): Maltz also said that now that everyone knows the word {meS} ["knot"], he can add that {meS} is a frequently used slang term for encrypt. Similarly, {meSHa'} means decrypt.

(Lieven, 11/16/2014): A password or passcode is a {chaw' ngoq}.

(KGT 48f): A specific plan or stratagem usually has a code name ({per yuD} [literally, "dishonest label"]) coined especially for the occasion and not necessarily used again... Code names are the equivalent of Federation locutions such as Operation Cougar and are therefore often translated in that pattern.

TREK TRIVIA:

Intersat Code was a radio code adopted by humans to communicate with other sentient lifeforms shortly after First Contact in 2063 and used in the mid-21st century by Earth's first colony ships. (TAS "The Terratin Incident") It was replaced by Linguacode, of which the Romulans have their own version (TNG "Tin Man"); Hoshi Sato is credited as having developed Linguacode (ENT "In a Mirror, Darkly, Pt. II").

Code One is the Starfleet Command designation for war. (TOS "Errand of Mercy")

Code Factor One is the designation for invasion status. (TOS "The Alternative Factor")

In 2267 the Romulans broke Starfleet Code 2; it was replaced by Code 3. (TOS "The Deadly Years")

"Condition Green" is a Starfleet tactical code meaning that a landing party is in trouble but forbidding a starships interference. (TOS "Bread and Circuses")

Shortly before her death in 2387, Ambassador K'Ehleyr was denied access to files on the Net (via a [subspace?] interlock from the Enterprise-D ) relating to the High Council's inquiries into the Khitomer Massacre because Council Member Duras had restricted the files to *du-ko-cha* clearance or higher; K'Ehleyr's own clearance of *pah-doQ-cha* was insufficient. (TNG: "Reunion")

In 2372 while the IKC Drovna was docked at the DS9, Worf and Kurn covertly obtained the detonation codes and locations of the cloaked Klingon mines. (DS9 "Sons of Mogh")

Starfleet security access code is a "password used by Starfleet personnel to provide positive identification when requesting restricted computer functions. Both the password and the user's voiceprint were used to confirm the user's identity. Security access codes were changed occasionally. (ST Encyclopedia [1st ed.], p.294).

Federation user code clearance is a "code required to access the control systems of a starship." (ST Encyclopedia [1st ed.], p.362; cf. TNG "Hero Worship")
