It's off-topic, but in light of today's WOTD, I couldn't resist sharing an article I just read:

Based on the pun ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apus_(genus) ) and description, I wonder if this might be an animal with the carnivorous diet of a hawk, but capable of executing sharp turns and catching other birds in midair as a swift does insects.
The mental imagery is quite intense.

(qurgh (1/09/2019) < Jaymz of the [KAG] IKV Swifthawk < MO): For "Swifthawk", I'd go with {'apuStoQ}. This is a new word (mostly). The {toQ} part means a particular kind of Klingon bird of prey (a bird, not a space vessel - the Klingon Bird of Prey ship is {toQDuj}). The {'apuStoQ} is a bird of prey, a hawk-like bird, that flies particularly fast.
(Bill Willmerdinger [4/07/1997]): When I met Okrand at BabelCon in April, we "purchased" him at the slave auction. His "official" duty was to clarify one word: {toQDuj} "bird of prey (type of ship)". According to Marc, a {toQ} is an avian predator on the Homeworld whose closest Terran analog would be a bird of prey. When I told him I had theorized that {toQ} might mean scout (since that's what a BoP is) he said no, it's definitely an animal from Qo'noS ... a Klingon avian analogous to a Terran bird of prey. {toQ} does not literally mean bird of prey, it's merely one type of creature which exhibits characteristics similar to that grouping of Terran birds.

The "Somraw" was a Raptor-class scout ship with a crew of 12 rescued from the atmosphere of a gas giant by the Enterprise in 2151. (ENT "Sleeping Targs"). N.B. this is not the same as a Bird of Prey, which were also referred to in the episode.
