IIRC there was a note in the qepHom 2016 materials that one could use {lat} or {van qach} for memorial/monument if a building.  Presumably {lat} "shrine" (according to KGT) would be preferred if it were religious in nature.   {lat} might even be an element in {qInlat} Quin'lat, a city on Qo'noS featured in the Kahless legend (cf. TNG "Rightful Heir").

Two new noun phrases were introduced at the qepHom:

  van qach  	monument,  memorial (building) (n) 
  van Hew  	monument,  memorial (sculpture) (n)

CULTURAL NOTES:

(KGT 79):  One of the most highly developed of the Klingon arts is sculpture. A statue of any kind, realistic or abstract, is a {Hew}. Realistic statues are found in public spaces, most notably the Hall of Heroes ({Subpu' vaS}), which features likenesses of famous Klingon warriors.

This was called the {SuvwI' vaS} in Klingon Monopoly (MKE):

  qIb boche'meH qeylIS HoS bolo' 'ej SuvwI' vaSDaq boquvmoHlu'. 
  Control the Galaxy with the might of Kahless and be immortalized
    in the Hall of Warriors. MKE

A photo of Gowron standing in front of two huge statues in the {Subpu' vaS} at Ty'Gokor can be seen in KGT 98 (cf. DS9 "Apocalypse Rising").  Kor dreamed of having his statue in the Hall of Heroes along with those of Kang and Koloth after presenting the rescued Sword to the Emperor, i.e. the clone Kahless II (cf. DS9 "The Sword of Kahless").

Captain Janeway referred to "the obelisk on Khitomer" (VOY "Memorial").
