Perhaps a dentist? 

It's also possible that he mis-remembered the name of the protagonist of
"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", which was Arthur Dent. 

Or maybe it's just a coincidence. Every once in a while a suspected pun
turns out to be entirely accidental.
