(Okrand, HQ 8.3): There is also an idiomatic phrase which conveys the idea of jealousy: {SuD veqlargh mInDu'.} Literally, this means "Fek'lhr's eyes are yellow/green", but it is used to express the idea that somebody is jealous. It would be used in an exchange such as:
A: loSmaH romulusngan SuvwI'pu' HoHta' qeng.
B: SuD veqlargh mInDu'.
A: Kang killed 40 Romulan warriors.
B: Somebody is jealous!
Speaker "B" is saying that speaker "A" is jealous of Kang.
CULTURAL NOTES:
(TKW 197) : Fek'lhr is a mythical beast guarding Gre'thor, the place where the spirits of the dishonored dead go. Not really a devil Kang once said that Klingons have no devil [TOS "Day of the Dove"]), is it still a being to be reckoned with.
(KGT 130): Fek'lhr is a somewhat ferocious mythological beast that guards the entrance to Gre'thor, the place where the spirits of the dishonored go.
TREK TRIVIA:
Fek'lhr was first seen in TNG "Devil's Due."
"They say there's no Devil." (Commodore Decker to Kirk, TOS "The Doomsday Machine")
B'Ellana burned some incense in her quarters, a "combination of mental relaxant and expeller of demons. It's an ancient Klingon remedy." (VOY "Nothing Human")
