Contractions are much more acceptable in formal language now than they
were, say, a hundred years ago. Clipped Klingon is more like speaking in
shorthand.
A: Sup?
B: Nothin'.
A: Busy?
B: Got homework.
A: How much?
B: All night.
A: C'mon, catch a movie.
B: I wish.
