[tlhIngan Hol] too late

I'm trying to say: "The commander decides to stop the battle, but it is too
late" (as in, the battle is already well underway). The best I can do at
the moment is just:

may' mevmoH 'e' wuq la' 'ach Suvqu' Hoch

How do you say "too late"? (Also, is it "mevmoH" or just "mev"?)
