At this year's qepHom, we received lots of new words. Some of them were
wishes by qepHom attendees and others. Others were used in Andrew
Miller's Art presentation in a Museum of Pittsburgh, which happened on
the same weekend. Marc Okrand gave me the list in english alphabetical
order, so for reading convenience I re-arranged them in a somehow
logical order. Few words had more explanations, here they are:

These were wishes from the students.

For "effect" (as in Doppler Effect), use the name for the effect
followed by {wanI'} ("phenomenon"). So the Maltz Effect would be {matlh
wanI'}. (Maltz said there's no such thing as the "Maltz Effect." He just
made that up to use as an example. I suspect, though, that people at the
qepHom might have ideas about what the {matlh wanI'} might be.)

Diseases are named in a similar fashion. If there is such an ailment as
"Maltz Disease" (or Maltz's Disease), it would be {matlh rop}.

The regular word for "teacher" is {ghojmoHwI'}. A teacher held in high
esteem, of higher rank than other teachers in the same institution,
could be {ghojmoHwI' quv} or {ghojmoHwI' Han} (v. "be learned,
scholarly, erudite"). Probably the highest standing of all is a
{'a'ghen}, which can be translated as "master teacher" or "professor."

"Voyage cancellation insurance" was an odd concept for Maltz.
But he said that {leng chach mab} ("voyage emergency contract") might
cover it. {leng chach mab} is not a term or phrase he had heard before,
but he said Klingons would understand it meant an agreement about who's
respon-sible for what if something goes wrong during a journey.

zombie	{yInbogh lom}
vampire	{'Iw remwI'}
made using the verb "suck" (e.g. through straw) {rem}

---end quote---

[note: Klingon words were written in bold face. I've added brackets for
format-free emails]
