In my (limited) experience, how you number finger on Earth mostly depends
on whether you're a pianist (or player of another keyboard instrument), or
a violinist (or player of another stringed instrument). I hear "fourth
finger" and immediately think of the ring finger, while my brother hears
"fourth finger" and immediately thinks of the pinky.

Which has little to do with how Klingons number fingers or toes.
